Marketplace Compliance and Responsibility

Version: v1.0
Last Updated: June 6, 2026

BookMaMe operates a marketplace and operational platform. We provide technology, workflows, and operational tools that help people and businesses:

  • discover goods and services
  • place orders and bookings
  • create parcel delivery requests
  • make payments
  • coordinate dispatch and fulfilment
  • communicate, track, and resolve support issues

BookMaMe is an intermediary platform. We may review, moderate, reject, suspend, remove, restrict, or investigate accounts, listings, requests, orders, bookings, deliveries, transactions, content, and related activity when we believe this is necessary for safety, compliance, operational integrity, or platform policy enforcement.

Even with moderation and enforcement, BookMaMe does not guarantee that every product, service, listing, delivery request, booking, or transaction on the platform is lawful, safe, licenced, authentic, or permitted in every location.

Responsibility of platform participants

Each customer, partner, rider, delivery company, and other participant remains responsible for ensuring that their own conduct and transactions comply with all applicable rules, laws, and regulatory obligations.

This includes responsibility for:

  • whether a product or service may lawfully be offered, purchased, transported, delivered, or received
  • whether any licence, permit, approval, or registration is required
  • whether the item or service is restricted, regulated, age-limited, or prohibited
  • whether transport, fulfilment, storage, export, import, or local possession is permitted
  • whether any tax, customs, declaration, or reporting obligation applies

Where goods or services move between locations, the relevant parties are responsible for considering legality in both:

  • the source location or origin jurisdiction
  • the destination location or destination jurisdiction

This is especially important for:

  • parcel delivery
  • second-hand sales
  • delivery-enabled marketplace orders
  • regulated or restricted product categories

Prohibited and restricted trade

BookMaMe may remove, reject, suspend, or block activity involving goods or services that are prohibited by law, prohibited by policy, unsafe, fraudulent, infringing, or operationally unsuitable for the platform.

Examples may include:

  • illegal drugs or narcotics
  • weapons or explosive materials
  • counterfeit or infringing goods
  • stolen property
  • hazardous or improperly handled substances
  • regulated goods offered without the required approvals
  • fraudulent, deceptive, or disguised listings or requests

The fact that something is not immediately removed, flagged, or blocked does not mean BookMaMe has approved it or accepts legal responsibility for it.

Delivery and fulfilment responsibility

Where logistics are involved, the relevant parties remain responsible for ensuring that the goods being handed over, transported, delivered, or collected are lawful and suitable for the route, origin, destination, and fulfilment method involved.

This includes responsibility for:

  • lawful packaging and declaration
  • lawful transportability
  • correct classification and disclosure where required
  • recipient eligibility where relevant
  • any permit or handling rule that applies to the item

BookMaMe may use operational rules such as delivery classes, package metadata, moderation controls, and partner restrictions to reduce risk, but these controls do not transfer the ultimate legal responsibility away from the parties involved.

Account and content enforcement

BookMaMe may take one or more of the following actions where appropriate:

  • refuse account creation or onboarding
  • reject or remove listings, bookings, requests, or content
  • suspend or terminate accounts
  • hold, pause, or cancel transactions or fulfilment flows
  • restrict access to payment, dispatch, delivery, or messaging tools
  • cooperate with lawful investigations, information requests, or enforcement processes

Whether a specific action is taken, and when, depends on the facts, the platform records, operational risk, and applicable law or policy.

If an activity, listing, request, or delivery is visible on BookMaMe, that does not mean:

  • it has been legally verified in every respect
  • it has been approved for every jurisdiction
  • it has been reviewed by a human
  • it is guaranteed to be lawful, authentic, or permitted

Users and partners should not rely on platform visibility alone as proof that an item or service is lawful to trade, fulfil, transport, or receive.

If you are unsure

If you are unsure whether something is lawful or permitted:

  • do not list it
  • do not order it
  • do not request transport for it
  • do not accept or fulfil it through the platform

If needed, seek advice from qualified local legal, regulatory, customs, tax, or compliance professionals before proceeding.
