Prohibited and Restricted Activities

Version: v1.0
Last Updated: June 6, 2026

BookMaMe does not allow the platform to be used for unlawful, fraudulent, unsafe, or prohibited activity.

This page describes the kinds of goods, services, conduct, and content that are prohibited or restricted on the platform. It is a general public policy guide, not an exhaustive legal catalogue.

Prohibited activity

You must not use BookMaMe for activity that is unlawful, deceptive, harmful, abusive, or prohibited by platform policy.

This includes using the platform to:

  • sell, buy, promote, transport, or request prohibited goods or services
  • facilitate fraud, theft, deception, or illegal trade
  • misuse logistics, payment, refund, referral, or support workflows
  • infringe intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights
  • submit false, forged, manipulated, or misleading documents or information
  • evade regulatory, customs, licensing, or age-based restrictions

Examples of prohibited goods or services

Examples may include:

  • illegal drugs or narcotics
  • weapons, ammunition, or explosive materials
  • stolen goods
  • counterfeit goods
  • forged documents or credentials
  • unsafe or unlawfully traded hazardous materials
  • regulated goods offered without the legally required authorization
  • unlawful adult, exploitative, or abusive material

These examples are illustrative only. A good or service may still be prohibited even if it is not listed here.

Counterfeit and infringing goods or content

You must not use BookMaMe to list, sell, distribute, promote, or transport:

  • counterfeit goods
  • pirated or unauthorized digital material
  • goods that misuse another party’s trade mark, brand, copyright, patent, design, or other rights
  • copied product images, text, or branding used in a misleading way

BookMaMe may remove such content or activity and may suspend or terminate the relevant account or listing flow.

Restricted goods or services

Some goods or services may be restricted rather than automatically prohibited.

Restrictions may depend on:

  • country
  • city or region
  • age
  • licence or permit status
  • safety rules
  • customs and import/export controls
  • marketplace type
  • delivery or fulfilment method

Where a category is restricted, the relevant user or partner remains responsible for making sure the activity is lawful and compliant before using the platform for it.

Parcel delivery and transport restrictions

The fact that BookMaMe supports parcel delivery does not mean every parcel may lawfully be transported.

Users must not use parcel delivery or other fulfilment flows to move:

  • prohibited items
  • undeclared restricted goods
  • items that require permits or handling controls that are missing
  • goods that are unlawful at the origin, destination, or along the route

The sender, and any other responsible parties, remain responsible for lawful packaging, declaration, and transportability.

Second-hand marketplace restrictions

Second-hand listings must not be used to trade:

  • counterfeit goods
  • stolen property
  • prohibited items
  • regulated items offered without the necessary authority
  • goods described in a misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent way

BookMaMe may review listings before they go live, but moderation is a risk-reduction control, not a guarantee that every unlawful item will be caught in advance.

Content restrictions

You must not upload or publish content that:

  • contains personal contact information where platform rules prohibit it
  • is abusive, threatening, hateful, obscene, or exploitative
  • is fraudulent or deliberately misleading
  • impersonates another person or business
  • contains unauthorized personal data
  • supports, promotes, or facilitates prohibited activity

Enforcement actions

Where BookMaMe believes prohibited or restricted activity may be occurring, BookMaMe may:

  • reject or remove listings, requests, or content
  • pause or cancel transactions, deliveries, or fulfilment flows
  • block account features
  • suspend or terminate accounts
  • require more information or documentation
  • hold operational or payment actions while the issue is investigated
  • cooperate with lawful requests or investigations where appropriate

If you are uncertain

If you are unsure whether an item, service, or activity is allowed:

  • do not list it
  • do not purchase it through the platform
  • do not request transport or fulfilment for it
  • do not rely on platform visibility alone as proof that it is permitted

Seek qualified local legal, regulatory, customs, tax, or compliance advice where needed.

Review note

This page is a public policy draft and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before broad production rollout.
