Payment Methods and Gift Vouchers
Version: v1.0
Last Updated: June 6, 2026
How payment methods, vouchers, and platform credit work across BookMaMe.
Payment methods you may see
BookMaMe supports a mix of:
- online pay-now methods
- pay-later methods
- voucher / platform-credit reductions
Examples include:
- online card
- mobile money
- cash on delivery
- card on delivery
- cash on pickup
- card on pickup
- cash at check-in / pickup
- card at check-in / pickup
Not every method appears in every marketplace.
Why some payment methods may not appear
The payment methods shown to you depend on the live checkout context, including:
- the marketplace flow
- the partner or delivery company involved
- whether the flow is delivery, pickup, or booking
- the selected country
- the selected currency
- which online gateways are supported for that checkout
Examples:
- a parcel request may show only the online gateways available for that request
- a delivery flow may show cash/card-on-delivery only when that company supports them
- a booking may show pay-at-check-in or pay-at-pickup only when the provider allows it
So if you do not see a method you expected, that usually means it is not available for the current checkout combination.
Pay now vs. pay later
Pay now
Online card and mobile money are processed during checkout.
This is common for:
- restaurant/shop online checkout
- second-hand purchases
- parcel delivery requests
- many hotel, rental, and services bookings
Pay later
Some marketplaces also allow payment when fulfillment happens, for example:
- cash or card on delivery
- cash or card on pickup
- cash or card at check-in
Pay-later options appear only when the marketplace and provider support them.
Orders, bookings, and parcel delivery
Restaurant and shop
You may see:
- online payment
- delivery pay-later methods
- pickup pay-later methods
Hotel, rental, and services bookings
You may see:
- online payment
- pay-at-check-in / pay-at-pickup / provider-set pay-later methods
Hotels and rentals may also include deposit-related payment behavior depending on the booking.
Second-hand
Second-hand purchases usually rely on online payment rather than broad cash-on-delivery availability.
Parcel delivery
Parcel delivery requests use the available online payment providers for the selected request. The visible providers depend on the request currency, country support, and the configured gateways available for that route.
Choosing a payment method
At checkout or booking confirmation:
- Review the available methods
- Apply a voucher if you have one
- Select the method you want
- Confirm the payment or order
For some online flows, you may also be asked to confirm the email address used for the payment provider session.
For the public legal-policy framing around payments, refunds, and cancellations, see:
Gift vouchers
Buying a gift voucher
- Open Gift Vouchers
- Choose the amount and currency
- Pay online
- The recipient receives the voucher code
Redeeming a voucher
At checkout:
- Enter the voucher code
- Apply it before final payment
- Review the reduced total

Partial redemption
If the voucher does not cover the full total:
- the voucher reduces the balance
- you pay the rest with another available method
Platform credit and refund vouchers
Some refunds or support resolutions may be issued as:
- platform credit
- refund vouchers
These behave like a balance or voucher at checkout and can reduce what you still need to pay.
See Cancellations and Refunds.
Voucher balance and expiry
You can review your active vouchers and balances in the app.
Always check:
- the remaining balance
- the expiry date
- any currency restrictions if shown
Expired vouchers cannot usually be restored.
