What a delivery partner does for rentals
A delivery partner (delivery company) handles both legs of a rental that uses third-party logistics:
- Outbound — taking the item from you to the customer
- Return — collecting the item from the customer and bringing it back to you
When an item is dispatched, the assigned delivery company receives a task and assigns a rider.
Which fulfillment modes need a delivery partner
| Fulfillment mode | Delivery partner required? |
|---|---|
| Third-party delivery | ✅ Yes |
| Self-delivery (you deliver yourself) | ❌ No |
| Customer pickup (customer collects and returns) | ❌ No |
You only need a delivery company assigned if you offer third-party delivery.
Assigning a delivery company
- Go to Settings → Delivery Partners
- Click Add delivery partner
- Browse or search available delivery companies
- Click Assign
New third-party-delivery reservations are routed to this company.

Removing or replacing a delivery company
- Go to Settings → Delivery Partners
- Click the company → Remove → Confirm
In-progress deliveries and returns complete as normal; only new reservations are affected. Assign a replacement so third-party-delivery bookings keep flowing.
Multiple delivery companies
You can assign more than one. The platform routes each task to the best-placed company automatically. For a priority configuration, contact the BookMaMe team.
For the general flow this mirrors, see Restaurant Partner — Delivery Partner Management.
Supported classes and package fit
For third-party-delivery rentals, assigned delivery companies also need to be compatible with the inventory you send.
That can depend on:
- delivery class
- weight
- dimensions / volume
- declared value
So assigning a delivery company is necessary, but not always sufficient on its own. Your inventory metadata and the company's supported classes still need to align.
