Setting the daily rental rate

Each item — and each variant — has its own daily rate.

  1. Open the item in Inventory
  2. Open the Pricing section
  3. Set the daily rate (per variant if the item has variants — e.g. different rates for different models or sizes)
  4. Save

Security deposit

The security deposit is a refundable amount held against loss or damage.

  • Amount — set a flat amount per item/variant, or use tiers (below)
  • Collection point — collected at booking (online payment) or at pickup (cash/card), depending on the customer's chosen payment method

How the deposit is settled at return is covered in Finance and Deposit Settlement.

Deposit tiers

If your deposit should scale (for example, with rental duration or item value), configure deposit tiers:

  1. In the deposit settings, choose Tiered
  2. Define each tier (e.g. 1–3 days → deposit A; 4–7 days → deposit B)
  3. Save

The platform applies the correct tier automatically based on the customer's booking.

Free-of-charge rentals

To offer an item at no rental cost (a promotional loan, a giveaway):

  • Set the daily rate to 0

A 0-rate item carries no rental earnings and no service charge. You can still require a deposit on a free rental to protect against loss.

Service charge (read-only)

A platform service charge is added on top of your rate. It is set by BookMaMe and read-only — you cannot change it. It shows in the customer's price breakdown and is deducted from your payout.

When rate changes take effect

Rate and deposit changes apply to new bookings only. Existing confirmed reservations keep the price agreed at booking time.
