Second-hand Seller — Getting Started

Version: v1.0
Last Updated: May 30, 2026

Selling second-hand items works inside the customer app — you don't need a separate partner account or a formal onboarding invitation like other partner types. The main step is seller verification, after which you can create listings.

Overview

Have a BookMaMe customer account
→ Complete seller verification (where required)
→ Create your first listing
→ Listing is reviewed by moderation
→ Listing goes live → buyers can purchase

Step 1 — Have a customer account

If you don't already have one, create a BookMaMe account (see Account Setup). The same account you order with is the one you sell with.

Step 2 — Seller verification

Before your listings can go live, you may need to complete seller verification:

  1. Go to Second-hand → Verification (/second-hand/verify)
  2. Provide the required information:
    • ID document for identity verification
    • Acceptance of the platform seller agreement / listing rules
  3. Submit — the moderation team reviews and approves your seller status

Listing rules (read before you list)

Your listings must follow the marketplace rules, or they'll be rejected at review:

  • Accurate, non-misleading title
  • Honest condition description
  • Correct category
  • At least one clear photo of the actual item (no stock images)
  • No personal contact info in images or text
  • No prohibited items (weapons, counterfeit, hazardous, regulated goods)

Fees

Second-hand selling generally has no submission or approval fee — you create listings directly once verified. A service charge is deducted from each sale when you're paid (see Finance and Earnings). If any onboarding fee applies in your region, it will be shown before you proceed — see Onboarding Fees and Payment.

Step 3 — Create your first listing

Once verified:

  1. Go to My Second-hand Listings
  2. Tap Create listing and follow Listing Lifecycle
  3. Submit for review — once approved, it's live and buyers can purchase
